In 1992, Michael A. (Mike) Collins purchased a small business and incorporated Collins Industries, Inc. It also contracted with GP to sort, saw hardwood and pine logs in specific lengths and transport to various mills in Middle Georgia. With changes in the operation of the timber industry, Collins Industries changed its focus to transporting building products. CI purchased one truck and leased a flatbed trailer from General Trailer Service. After a short period of time, CI purchased Jones Trucking in Griffin, Ga. and in 2005 CI purchased Collins Trucking Co., Inc. Today Collins Industries is the parent company for several successful entities.  One, Collins Trucking Company, operates 100 plus power units, utilizing flatbed, and van trailers operating throughout the Southeast and Midwestern States.

Collins is owned and operated by the third generation of Collins’. Mike Collins is the President & financial officer. Andy Collins is in charge of dispatch operations and Leigh Ann Collins manages the entire front office.
